The Shade Above specializes in custom-made silk lampshades accentuated with detailed handwork of intricate smocking styles. Our lampshades are crafted from fine-quality China silks and feature a variety of trimmings to add a finishing touch. Owned by Robin Morris, The Shade Above was launched just recently -- July 2004 to be exact. Her expertise, however, has been finely honed for nearly 10 years previous while working for Little Rock, Ark., interior designer Keith James of Dauphine Interiors. Dauphine is highly respected for quality lamps and lampshades, and Robin oversaw the craftsmanship of every lampshade during her tenure there.
